Happy News!

I always have several crafty projects to relax with while taking a break from working around the house and yard. Right now I have a quilt (I'll show later) and a baby blanket I'm crocheting. I'm using a Bernat Softee Baby and a simple shell pattern. I'll put a lacy edge around it when I'm done and add some ribbon. And who, you may ask, is it for? Well, our son, Andrew and his wife, Alison are expecting their first baby in June! Our first grandchild! We are so excited, as you can imagine. We don't know the sex yet, but I had to make something, so I chose this soft baby yellow.

Not only am I dreaming of holding that sweet baby, I am dreaming up all kinds of things to make for him/her!

I'm so excited for you! I can remember twenty years ago when we found out our daughter was having our grandbaby....I was beyond excited. She is the light of our life...then just seven years ago our grandson was born.... they are the heart of our family. You will be beyond in love with this precious new baby. I'm a huge scrapbooker...you know what my favorite subjects are???? Yep my little loves. Keep that smile going, it will be June before you know it. xoso Sandy

Cindy! What wonderful news! What a treasure to have handmade baby blankets. I always love looking at the patterns at the store. Bluebirds! You have them? I don't think they are to be found in the Mid-West; but I have seen photographs of them, and they truly are beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing about them. Made my day! Have a lovely weekend.
