This and That

I hope everyone had a great 4th. We had a wonderful time with family and friends. And the weather was perfect this year. Tad was thrilled to hold a sparkler, and watch the "color booms"!

The weather has also been perfect for the garden. We've been getting enough rain so that everything is growing well and we don't have to do any extra watering, which is my least favorite garden chore. I am harvesting green beans, red raspberries, onions, peas, and cucumbers every day. Now I just need some tomatoes for my favorite meal - bagels, cream cheese, and sliced veggies. It's so rewarding to go out to the garden and find what I need to fill out our dinner menu. One thing we don't plant is sweet corn (because of the raccoons) but there is a farm wagon that comes into town every morning with the best corn. Need to get some tomorrow:)

I was at Walmart the other day and found these Adirondack chairs marked down half price. $50.00 each! I had to get them, they were the last ones. They are very comfortable and we already love sitting out under the maple tree and reading, and in my case stitching. I am still working on the star quilt I started last fall. I'm quilting the borders now and that goes pretty fast. As much as I love it, I am ready to move on to something else. So many quilts, so little time!

Your little grandson is growing so fast - don't you just love seeing the world through those eyes? The garden is gorgeous - love the little greenhouse, the arbor, the bright bee-balm and those amazing veggie beds! The quilt is really lovely and I can just imagine how peaceful it is to sit under the trees in your new Adirondack chairs. What a great bargain, too. Love those patriotic deserts! Hope your weekend is lovely. xo Karen
