I have finished up the decorating. Yeah! These pictures are of the kitchen. I'll show some more next time and you can also look at previous years pictures. The years seem to go by so quickly and I sometimes think I won't be in the mood to decorate. ("Didn't we just take this stuff down?") But then I get the boxes out and start going through all these ornaments that we have collected or made in the 33 years we have been together and I'm back in the spirit. I reminisce about when the boys were little and it all comes back. So here I am, excited about making cashew brittle with Eric, shopping with Rick, and watching our grandson open his presents. Life is pretty good, isn't it?
I finally got over the mono and bronchitis I had this fall. Boy, it sure is good to have my energy back! Not soon enough to get the gardens completely cleaned up, but that's OK. I've continued to work on the quilt from the last post, as well as a Christmas gift that I want to show you, but I can't! I also made cards and that little quilted mat in the first picture above. So I guess I'm doing pretty well. Are any of you making gifts or ornaments this year? I'd love to hear about it.

So pretty. Wow, you must have been one sick cookie. Glad you feel better. Not making much this year. I usually do though.
i love your christmas decorations! i like to put christmas cards on old flower frogs too! i switch them out for vintage photos throughout the year.
Yep there are so many memories wrapped up in those boxes. Merry Christmas!!
Your kitchen looks very warm and cozy with your sweet Christmas decorations, Cindy! I am loving that little cat pillow with the button eyes and the Santa in the sleigh. My Mom had the complete set of that blue and cream pottery - I know the name of the maker but it has completely slipped my mind - I will wake up tonight and remember, I'm sure! My sister has it now. Your tree is very pretty and it is always so nice to have those warm memories come flooding back. All my Christmas decorations are trapped behind boxes and boxes from our remodeling and so I had to leave them there and make do with home-made this year. It is a woodland style Christmas with pinecones and cranberries! Glad you are feeling better - hope you are having a nice holiday season. Hugs xo Karen

Hello Cindy your decorations look lovely, your kitchen is so cosy and festive! I am glad you are feeling better after being so poorly. It is lovely to recall all the memories when we open up the Christmas decorations boxes....though I agree, it does seem to come round faster and faster!
Wishing you a happy festive week!
