Crazy Quilt

No, the quilt is not crazy. But I might be for trying to make it!

It's an English paper pieced quilt of little stars, each about 4 inches across. I figure it will take the whole winter and spring to get this put together. (That is, if I can get more fabric.) And then there is the quilting, which is my favorite part. Anyway, a long term project.

I really love hand sewing and this is a lot of hand sewing:) It's very relaxing after a day at work. I look forward everyday to hitting the couch with my needle and thread, sitting next to Rick watching a movie. Heaven, I tell you!

We have had very cold temps this week and even a little snow. All the more reason to have a project to keep me busy when I don't want to go outside. I'd love to hear about your indoor winter projects!

It looks like you are well on your way to getting that done. I don't have the patience for that much hand sewing, but I admire people who can do it. I love the fabrics you are using.

It's gorgeous! And at least the soft colors will be easy on your eyes. I've never made a quilt....I do quick and easy projects. It was cold and windy here today and I tore into my doll room to try to get some order. It kept me busy AND warm! lol Sweet hugs!

Hello Cindy Your stars are beautiful and I love the fabrics you have picked. Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog....we were both making stars at the same time! I am really enjoying it too....paper piecing is very relaxing. Enjoy your starry sewing :)

How beautiful, Cindy! You always have such an eye for putting together colors and this one is especially lovely. I can picture you sitting next to your sweetheart on a cold winter night stitching away. Those simple things bring such joy. I tried paper piecing once and I really enjoyed it. I made a little table runner for my Dear Mother. I am working on scarfs for Christmas gifts. I love the soft feel of the yarn. Happy stitching - I can't wait to see the finished quilt. Hugs xo Karen

I would not say you are crazy for putting this together, Cindy - but it will take determination! I do find piecing a quilt relaxing, but my problem is that I am never exact enough. My corners often don't line up! <3

This quilt is an absolute dream! I look forward to seeing it finished. I just don't have the patience to do this kind of work, and my hands get tired too easily for a lot of hand work, but this quilt is so beautiful it makes me wish I could make one too!

A quilt such as this is tedious...requiring much time, patience and talent and clearly you have that...this is just lovely :) Kathy over at Kathy's Quilts has a Slow Stitching Sunday party devoted just to work such as this...you should link up your lovely quilt one Sunday! :)

Your quilt is so very pretty. I'm always in awe of the beautiful hand quilting that you do. Yes, a lot of work but worth every stitch.
